Marketplace of Ideas

One of the main events of the Third High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness will be the Marketplace of Ideas. The Marketplace will give participating countries and organizations an opportunity to highlight their success in implementing the goals of the Paris Declaration. Through posters displayed at the Marketplace and presentations, delegations can illustrate their innovative approaches and best practice examples in aid effectiveness.

The Marketplace of Ideas will take place at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) and will be visible throughout the course of the Accra HLF. Within the marketplace setting there will be a "speakers corner" where scheduled oral presentations of posters will be made. Please consult this website in the near future for further details regarding scheduling and other presentation information.

A similar marketplace event was held at the Hanoi Third International Roundtable for Managing for Development Results (February 2007) which may provide useful information about the marketplace concept. Please find more information from the event of the Hanoi Third International Roundtable for Managing for Development Results here.

On this website, delegations can find the Guidelines for the poster in  English,  French and  Spanish, as well as a Sample Poster and Technical Specifications for creating a poster.

To facilitate the preparation and production of the Marketplace posters and Guidebook, we are asking that delegations adhere to the following timeline:

  • May 22: Delegations identify the member of their delegation to the Accra HLF that will serve as the key contact for the case and identify the case their delegation would like to present.
  • June 20: Case information consisting of all required elements submitted (i.e. draft posters without art work)
  • July 4: Poster drafts and abstracts of cases and country profiles for inclusion in the Marketplace Guidebook returned to participants for review/comments/approval
  • July 18: Approved versions of posters, abstracts and country profiles for the Marketplace Guidebook submitted by participants
  • August 1: Abstracts and country profiles for the Marketplace Guidebook finalized and sent for translation and production.
